Antistatic Wrist Straps

Antistatic Wrist Straps are used to prevent electrostatic discharge by safely grounding a person working with ESD sensitive electronic components. They are designed to prevent the build-up of static electricity leading to ESD damages or ESD hazards causing lots of hidden cost even after the production or repair process is completed.

An antistatic wrist strap consists of a band of a metal or fabric with fine conductive fibers woven into it. The fibers are usually made of carbon or carbon-filled rubber, and the strap is bound with a stainless-steel clasp or plate. Antistatic wrist straps are only effective when connected to a grounding source directly such as Grounding Plugs or indirectly like ESD Table Mats on the surface of the ESD Workbenches.
