Grounding Plugs & Points
Several elements in an ESD Protected Area (EPA) are required to be kept at the same electrical potential. This is usually achieved by using and connecting groundable materials like Antistatic Wrist Straps, ESD Table Mats, ESD Workbenches, etc. to Earth Bonding Points (EPB) also known as Earth Bonding Plugs and Points.
Earth bonding plugs are normally fit into the mains supply socket of the facility making a connection with the earth conductor only leading element being held at a common potential.
