An Earth bonding point (EBP) serves as the main connection for either the electrical mains earth or a dedicated ESD earth within an Electrostatic Protected Area (EPA).
This Earth facility (EF) is connected to the ground through a 2-meter long earth wire, and all other components of the EPA are linked to the EBP. No resistor is included.
An EBP can ground bench matting, floor matting, and wrist straps to ensure they share the same electrical potential.
It’s crucial to note that while multiple EBPs can exist in an EPA, there should only be one EF connection.
The EBP is designed to be mounted on a workbench and comes with a single M5 post. It has a yellow design for easy identification and features an ESD warning symbol. Made from ABS material, it includes a 2-meter long earth wire with an eyelet termination and supports EN 61340-5 standards, making it suitable for use in an ANSI/ESD S20.20 program.
